Quick background: "Pop" music really just means "Popular", but usually when people refer to "pop music", they mean something that's a softer alternative to, say, Rock music. Some argue that most or all rock music is pop music (I would say that the Beatles made pop music). In the end, it's just a label, and I would say that generally people are referring to music that has a very modern sound and isn't classical, heavy metal, jazz, or any other very specific genre of music.
Who should learn about pop? Do you follow the hits on the radio or YouTube? Are you always looking for the next big thing? Do you like to dance to really catchy songs? If so, then pop music is for you.
What makes pop unique? Pop music relies quite heavily on electronic instruments like samplers, synthesizers, and keyboards, and those elements tend to distinguish it the most from straight Rock n Roll or Blues music, or any other genre.
Popular pop artists: Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran.
How to play pop on guitar and ukelele: In general, pop music tends to work best on guitar when playing chords, so the easiest way to get started is to learn some chords. In fact, with a capo and only a few chords, you can play a lot of different songs. Most songs are based on scales (something you'll see me talk more about in the future), so certain chords go really well together.

Here's a simple pop progression using these chords (just strum down-up, down-up, down-up, etc.):
How to play pop on bass: Generally speaking, the best way to get started on bass is to simply play the bass notes to chords. Here's an easy way to do that with the chords I've written above.
Pop goes the world!
That's about it. Pop music is simple and fun, so have some fun playing it!
